How does it happen?

01

You ordered a website, a web studio developed, tested and launched it.

02

During the warranty period, they fixed the bugs and everything works.

03

But life does not stand still and sooner or later you will need to add a new button, connect a third-party service or create a new section.

04

In addition to the need to develop your website, you may need to restore its functionality.

The ideal option is to sign a support contract with the website developers or another team.

In addition to the need to develop your website, you may need to restore its functionality.

The ideal option is to sign a support contract with the website developers or another team.

What does the support give?

You get a personal manager and a dedicated team that will delve into the essence of your business to solve problems as efficiently as possible. Such a team is like a family doctor who does not need re-explanation of where and what "hurts" with new requests. If it is a single contact of a web studio, you will be given a free person and they will have to delve into the essence from scratch. This, of course, is not terrible, but it entails a waste of time and paperwork.

On top of that, if the task is small, not every studio will take on the job because there is a minimum charge.

The peculiarity of technical support is its focus on long-term cooperation.

For this purpose, a permanent team is created. As a result, the customer will be working with the same people in six months or a year, which will allow them to work well together.

Trust is an important element of technical support.

Usually, the contract is concluded for a year. During this period, many bugs can appear and it is important to eliminate them promptly and notify the client in a timely manner.

The contractor will not be able to hide a bug and keep quiet. Sooner or later, it will appear and the client will demand that everything be fixed. Therefore, it is more profitable for everyone to do a good job right away so as not to return to this issue.

Default functions

Website monitoring allows you to increase the speed of response to problems that have arisen.

If you didn't have a support team, who would notify you of a website crash? Your customer, employee or maybe you would notice it yourself... But while the site is down, you lose money on advertising and on customers who could not place an order.

But that's not all. You've found out about the problem, but who's going to solve it? You contact the developer, he says he will look into it within 2 days and you continue to lose money and customers.

Even the banal reason "unpaid hosting" can take several days. Until the invoice is issued, then until the payment is made.

Technical support includes setting up backups (creating a backup copy) and monitoring 24/7. In case of a website crash, a notification is sent to the person in charge.

The reasons for the crash can be different:

    icon
    a problem with hosting;
    icon
    errors in the code;
    icon
    hacker attacks;
    icon
    It can even be that the domain has expired, but you didn't have time to pay for it.

To avoid all this, you set up a website performance monitoring. You can also set up notifications for SSL certificate and domain renewal, hosting payment, etc.

The average support response time is no more than 2 hours during business hours. This indicator is specified in the contract in the SLA section.

The task of technical support is to "polish" the site.

Many clients believe that after developing and launching a website, there is nothing else to do and are sincerely surprised when the time comes to change hosting to a more productive one; update the CMS, which entails a lot of edits and improvements.

If your site grows, the load on the server also increases and you run out of free disk space (because it stores thousands of photos and videos and adds new ones). Accordingly, the speed of your site gradually decreases, which negatively affects your search engine rankings and user perception.

Technical support solves these problems by optimizing the code, lightening images and videos, updating the CMS, and optimizing the hosting. It also checks for broken links (with a 404 error indicating that the page does not exist or has not been found), broken pages and viruses. If necessary, it transfers the site to a more productive hosting.

What do you need support for?

You can also order improvements from the developer. But after the contract is completed, you will have to discuss the essence of the task, conclude a new one, wait for the invoice, wait for payment to be received, and only then, after a certain time, get the result. And what if you needed to fix just one button?

In this case, a support agreement reduces the cost of work coordination and paperwork. After signing it, you just set the task and get the result.

Here's an example from my personal experience:

A client was setting up several variants of one page, and we rearranged buttons, phone numbers, and other blocks about 10 times during the day.

Imagine how you would have done it without technical support?

So, website maintenance is about taking care of your website in the long run. It helps to optimize the time spent on updates and problem solving and ensures the stability of the website. Look for a qualified specialist to join your team or contact contractors with relevant experience and your website will successfully perform its functions.

Entrust the care of your website to professionals!
